JAMES L. DIXON It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father and grandfather on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at The Middlechurch Home, at the age of 77 years. James was born and raised in Selkirk, MB. He served in the Second World War from July 1942 to November 1945. He married Myrtle Watson on November 11, 1945. In 1956, Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg where they continued to raise their family. Prior to his retirement he worked for the Department of National Defense. Dad loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and had a great passion for gardening. He was predeceased by his wife Myrtle in 1994; his son Gord Dixon in 1990; parents, James and Freda Dixon; brother George; sisters, Irene and Audrey. Dad leaves to mourn daughters, Cheryl (Louie) Dreilich, Karen (Don) Boultbee, son Jeff (Betty) Dixon, and sister Alice; grandchildren, Cara (Rick), Brent, Amber, Kyle, and Courtney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with Dads wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at St. Clements Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 6 at Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dads name to Childrens Wish Foundation, Lower Level, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg (945-9474). On behalf of Dad we would like to thank the staff of B1 unit, Middlechurch Home, especially Mavis, Dr. Coates, Sandra Mann and all her staff at Home Care. God saw you getting tired and that you were suffering. He took you into His care and now you are resting peacefully. We will remember you always and the priceless memories we will always treasure. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
