GEORGE ANDREW BYMAN June 9, 1924 - July 3, 2001 George (Andy) Byman passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at Misericordia Place at the age of 77 years after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Ethel in 1999 and Andrew in 1967; his first wife Lois in 1962; and youngest son Philip in 1989. He is survived by his loving wife Ada; his children, Tim (Debbie), Kate (Robyn), Craig (Pat) sister Millie Richards; brothers, Edgar and Bill; his daughter-in-law Sally Wiebe; his grandchildren, Jesse, Kristie, Pamela, Colin, Jill and Holly; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and good friends. George was born in Winnipeg and received his primary and secondary schooling in Norwood. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as a navigator. He worked for Manitoba Telephone Systems for 34 years and was a member at Reh-Fit for 13 years and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the friends he made there. George will be remembered for his interest in carpentry, photography, country music, square dancing, and Bridge. He especially enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with his grandchildren. Our family wishes to thank Misericordia Health Centre and Misericordia Place for the care and consideration they gave to George. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the St. Boniface Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9 or to the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow.
