VERNA BATTELLINO (nee MODJESKI) In sorrow, the family wish to announce the peaceful passing of Verna at age 72, on July 2, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre. She is survived by her husband Robert; sons Carl (Sue) and Don (Pat) granddaughters, Alexis and Taylor; sisters, Eleanor (Billy) and Leona (Jim). Verna was born in 1929 and courageously lived with type 1 diabetes without its other complications for 65 years. Verna was an avid gardener who nurtured her flowers from seed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family would like to thank the excellent staff at the Health Sciences Centre ICU and IICU.
