EUGENY (JEAN) MARKO (nee FEDCHESHEN) Peacefully at her residence, Jean Marko, aged 90 years of East Selkirk, MB, beloved wife of the late Dmytro. Jean leaves to mourn her passing, four daughters and sons-in-law, Pat (Victor) Virginia (Lawrence), Sharon (Brian) and Marion (Michael) sisters, Olga and Pollie; six grandchildren, Brad, Judy, Rick, Debbie, Alan and Cory; eight great-grandchildren, Michelle, Terri, Wayne, Jessica, David, Philip, Connor and Kira. She was predeceased by her husband Dmytro in 1977; parents, Maria and Michael Fedcheshen; sisters, Annie, Helen and Sophie. Jean was born in Rosa, MB and moved with her family to Poplar Park in 1917. She married Dmytro Marko in 1936 and they farmed in Poplar Park. After her husbands passing, she continued to farm for four years with the help of her daughter Pat and later moved to East Selkirk to live with her daughter Virginia. Mom worked side by side with Dad on the farm. She always grew a big garden and loved flowers, our house was always full of them. In the past few years she spent hours in the greenhouse and started vegetables and many, many flowers. Often she would pass on extra vegetables to her friends. Mom even worked in the garden on her passing day. She walked with two canes but managed to get around. It was her determination that kept her out of a wheelchair. Mom was a very patient and kindhearted woman who never said no if we needed anything. Her memory and her mind were as sharp at 90 years as ever. Prayers will be said on Sunday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Poplar Park, with Fr. Alexander Harkavyi officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
