FANNY LOUISE PATTON (GRAHAM) (nee CLEGG) Fanny Louise Patton (Graham) (nee Clegg), after 91 years, passed away peacefully in the Russell Hospital. With her family at her side, her last hours were spent reminiscing about her life. It was a wonderful time and her family will not forget that day. Fanny was born in the Russell District on December 14, 1909. She married Allan Graham on June 19, 1936 and they farmed just north of Binscarth. Fanny and Allan decided in 1956 to sell the farm and move into Binscarth where they eventually ran Grahams Solo Store for the next 14 years. Allan passed away in February, 1975. Fanny re-married to Virgil (Tex) S. Patton in Stockton, CA on April 16, 1979 and Tex passed away in June, 1983. Fanny moved from her home when she was 86 to Westview Manor in Binscarth. Fannys career began after graduating in 1932 from the Winnipeg General Hospital as a Registered Nurse and continued throughout the years at the Russell Sacred Heart Hospital as well as community and private duty nursing. She became the Head Nurse at the new Russell Personal Care Home and worked there for six years until she retired at the age of 69. Fanny was also very involved in her community; she was President of Binscarth Drop-In Centre for four years and Worthy Matron of the Russell Eastern Star in 1958-59. Leaving to mourn her passing are her four children and their spouses, Jack (Pat) Graham, Roy (LaVonne) Graham, Margaret (Dave) Scurfield and Heather (Ron) Tanner. Fannys grandchildren were a big part of her life and they will miss her dearly, Sheldon (Pam) Graham, Leanne Scurfield (Bob Lawrie), Wendy Scurfield (Tony Damota), Allan Scurfield, Rhonda (Kyle) German, Rick Tanner (Anna-Marie Haalboom), Betty Salmon and Wayne Pomehichuk. Fannys step great-grandchildren will also miss Nana, Katrina, Jessica, Tanya, Brittany, Brendon and Dayden. Fanny also leaves to mourn her dear brother Roland Clegg and his wife Gladys and their family. A sincere thank-you to her good friends Ada and Gordon for their watchful eyes; Fanny could not have stayed on her own without you both. The family is grateful to Dr. Moolman, Rev. John Dolloff, Rev. Dwight Rutherford as well as the Village Singers for their kindness. The nursing staff at the Russell Hospital was wonderful. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 23 in Binscarth. If friends wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Fanny may be made to the Binscarth Lions Club.
