ANNIE DAROWANY (nee BURKOWSKI) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Darowany, aged 91 years, on July 5, 2001, at the Heritage Lodge Care Home. Annie Darowany was born September 26, 1909 in Malonton on her parents homestead. As a young adult she worked for a few years in Chicago, IL. Later she returned to Malonton to be with her husband Mike whom she was married to for 62 years. Annie enjoyed farming with her husband, took pride in her gardens and welcomed the visits of family and friends. She will be remembered for her loving kindness and generosity. Annie was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1996; son Michael in 1997; parents, Alec and Mary Burkowski; brothers and sisters, Millie, Elsie, Jean, John, Herman, Frank and Joe. Annie is survived by her daughter Eileen (Steve) Kytaychuk of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Delores Darowany of Malonton; brother Carl (Sally) Burkowski of Vancouver, BC; grand-children, Penny (Barry) Horeczy of Sherwood Park, AB, Darryl Kytaychuk, Susan Kytaychuk, David (Catherine) Lukinuk of Kelowna, BC; great-grandson Tyrell Horeczy of Sherwood Park, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers will be offered in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon, Sunday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Rev. Deacon H. Chuckry will officiate; followed by an interment at Zbruch Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all those at Heritage Lodge Home for their care.
