He was the husband and best friend of Shirlee Helfgott, father to Juliana and Linus Doupe, and grandfather to Julianas sons, Duncan Dorie and Jack Thurston, and to Linus and Little Flowers daughter, Mana Grace Sally. His parents, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Doupe and sister Sara Lewis predeceased him. His sister Dr. Lisa Doupe of Toronto and nephew Joseph MacDonald of Vancouver and in-laws, Betty and Monte Simon survive him. Condolences may be emailed to hdoupe@hotmail.com or ldoupe@inforamp.net A gathering of Davids friends was held in Byron Bay, Australia and his ashes will be scattered on the family property in Dundurrabin.
