MARY LAWRENCE 1912 - 2001 Peacefully, on Friday, July 6, 2001 at the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital, Stonewall, with her family by her side, Mary Lawrence passed away at the age of 88 years. Mary was predeceased by her husband Edward. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage in Argyle, MB and together they spent 23 years of retirement before Ed passed away in 1990. Mary then moved from Argyle to the Lions Manor in Stonewall where she lived until her passing. Mary will be missed by many and especially by her daughter, Audrey Taplin (Lloyd) and her grandchildren, Ken (Linda), and Faye; and by her son Edward Lawrence (Marilynn) and her grandchildren, Scott, Patti, and Lana (Chris). Granny Mary will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Meagan, Ryan, Douglas, Alyssa, and Kaitlin. Mary will be remembered by her brothers, Jock Henderson (Joan) and Andy Henderson (Connie) and their children. As well, she leaves members of the Lawrence family, Art and Thelma (who held a special place in her heart), Allan and Jackie, John and Mary Sykes; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a loyal friend and cherished the friendship of Audrey Gibbons, Edith Sutherland, and Jean Ritchie. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. Because Mary was so grateful for the care she received during her stay in the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital, the family requests that, if friends so wish, donations be made in her memory to The Doctor Evelyn Memorial Hospital, 589 3rd Ave. S., Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0 MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
