SUSAN RUTH HAYES (nee CORNISH) Peacefully went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2001 at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto, ON. Susan, beloved wife and best friend of David. Loving mother of Jonathan, Daniel, Timothy, and Benjamin. Cherished daughter of Douglas and Ruth Cornish. Much loved sister of Stephen and Valerie, Sharon and Graeme Sweeney. Dear daughter-in-law of John and Helen Hayes, of Winnipeg. Fondly remembered by the Hayes family in Western Canada and by many others around the world. Susan was born at Toronto Grace Hospital on October 13, 1954. She was born again as a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of 10 at Camp Mini-Yo-We, Muskoka, ON. She was a graduate of the University of Toronto B.Sc.Food Sciences in 1977 and married John David Hayes at Knox College Chapel, U. of T., on October 4, 1980 prior to a honeymoon in Newfoundland and life in Winnipeg, MB. Jonathan Michael Hayes (November 21, 1983), Daniel Philip Hayes (October 21, 1985), Timothy David Hayes (May 22, 1988), and Benjamin James Hayes (August 19, 1991) were born there. In 1997 the family began service with HCJB World Radio, first in San Jose, Costa Rica and then in Quito, Ecuador August 1998. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to HCJB World Radio or Camp Mini-Yo-We. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax (Pickering Village), ON, 905-428-8488, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service to be held on Friday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Brook Bible Chapel, S.E. corner of Fairport Road and Finch Avenue, Pickering, ON. Interment to follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens. Susan was diagnosed with Lymphoma in April of 1999 and underwent numerous cancer treatments since then. The family wish to express their thanks to the staff of Princess Margaret and Mt. Sinai Hospitals, and to Vozandes, in Quito, Ecuador. She is overjoyed now to be in Heaven!!! "As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness." Psalm 17:15
