Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MUZYKA March 22, 1919 - July 9, 2001 Peacefully, on Monday, July 9, 2001, John passed away after a brief stay at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 82. John was born in Tolstoi, MB to Pylyp and Anna Muzyka. He was raised on the family farm and educated in Tolstoi. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1943 in the Irish Fusiliers and 5th Work Coy R.C.E. CA (Active). He worked for the CPR until his retirement in 1976. John is survived by his sister Theresa Kulbaba; nieces, Beverly (Ed) Bloom, Darcy (Allan) Hastman, and Violet (Doug) Newediuk-Fosty; nephew Ken Kulbaba (Susan Mott) great-nieces, Donna Bloom, Krystin Hastman, and Marysa Fosty; great-nephews, David Bloom, Chad Hastman, and Julian Fosty; and brother-in-law Steve Newediuk. His friends at Fred Douglas Lodge where he resided for the last 13 years, thank you for looking after each other. John was predeceased by his father Pylyp in 1943; sisters, Helen Newediuk in 1969, Mary Gray in 1976; and mother Anna in 1982. Also brothers-in-law Onufrey Kulbaba in 1980, and Bill Gray in 1995. He lived to travel and spent the last 40 years doing just that, travelling throughout the United States and Canada. His favourite things were Arizona in the winter, Snowbird Airshows, going to The Forks, and attending the many festivals and fairs throughout Manitoba in the summer. His one pleasure in life was his car, which he drove constantly until three weeks ago. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Uncle John will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Monday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Wm. H. Davis officiating, with interment and reception to follow. He will be laid to rest next to his sister Helen. Memorial gifts may be given to a charity of your choice or Fred Douglas Lodge.
