LINDA M. STRATTON (nee SCOTT) After a private and courageous battle with cancer with her family at her side, Linda Stratton, aged 60 years, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2001, at 6:40 a.m. Linda is survived by her husband Wayne, son Sean (Denise), daughter Lisa (Pierre), mother Charlotte, sister Joyce, and "MAS" and POPS first grandchild Marly. Linda was predeceased by her father Clifford Scott. Lindas battle with cancer was fought the way Linda wanted - privately at home with her husband Wayne. Lindas days were spent snacking on sweets and spending time with her "Plaza Pals" (Lindas special buddies, Dwayne and Tommy) and also special visits from her granddaughter Marly. Ma and Marly would tickle the Ivorys together or spend time in Mas chair sliding down the foot rest and putting diapers on baby bear. In Lindas daily calls to her mom Charlotte, Linda was proud to tell her mother about her visits with Marly and sent many pictures so Marly could brighten Charlottes day the same way they brightened Lindas. Linda loved children which was evident through the special love Ma and Marly shared. Lindas love of children also paved the way for a career as an educator, graduating in 1960. Linda began a long and fulfilling career in education. Lindas final appointment which was also her longest was with Chancellor School which started in the late 70s. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Interment will follow in the family plot in Brandon, MB at a later date. The Stratton family would like to thank Dr. Maksymiuk, Irena at John Buhlers Cancer Care and all at the Victoria General Hospital, Dr. M. J. Evans (Lindas buddy). You are the best!
