Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM BILL ELENDIUK July 5, 1906 - July 10, 2001 Peacefully, on July 10, 2001 at the Concordia Hospital, surrounded by the love of his life Anne, and family. Bill was born in Onut, Romania and came to Canada in 1927 with his brother Alex, following his brother George. Together they worked in pulp cutting in Fort William, ON. Bill moved to Winnipeg in 1929, where he started market gardening, as such, in the early 1950s became known as the Radish King of Manitoba. In 1955, he married the love of his life Anne and welcomed the responsibility of her two children, which after many years produced six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He retired from market gardening when he was only 48 years of age and from this point on for the next few years dealt in real estate and rental properties. He was respected and appreciated by all tenants and customers he dealt with. His brothers, George and Alex of Winnipeg, two brothers in the former Ukraine; and grandson David Riznek, predeceased him. Bill is survived by his loving wife Anne; children, Nola (Fred) Anderson, Bob (Evelyn) Riznek; grandchildren, Debbie (Bob) Lotocki, Todd Riznek, Kim (Glen) Stefanyshen, Fred Anderson and Bill Anderson; great-grandchildren, Ken, Gary, Bryan, Kelsey, Hannah, Nolan, Lauren; numerous cousins and family, all who will miss him dearly. William was affectionately known as Bill, Grampa, or the Boss. He was a quiet soft-spoken man, and as his great and grandchildren often said, he had the softest caring touch, never raised his voice or had a mean word about anyone. He was a most giving and loving man and was held in the highest esteem by the family. Grampa was the entire world to us. Although Bill was in poor health for a short period of time he remained in his home because of his caring wife, and the care provided by Allied Homecare Workers and various family members. We are grateful to the Doctors, nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion given to Grampa and our family. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 13 at 12:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Grampas pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing to make a donation in Bills memory may do so to a charity of their choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
