Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH JOHN SINGLETON Kenneth John Singleton entered into rest at the age of 79 years at Neepawa District Memorial Hospital on July 9, 2001 with family at his bedside. Born August 21, 1921 to Alfred and Agnes Singleton. Ken leaves to mourn his wife Helen; sons, David (Bonnie), Richard (Karen) and Reggie (Traci) grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Matthew, Michael and Tanner. He also leaves behind brother Les (Laurel) and sister Shirley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Ken was predeceased by his mother and father; brothers, Jim and Ben; and sister Marie who died in infancy. Ken was born and raised on the family farm at Arden Ridge. He received Grade 11 education at which time he moved to work in the garage in Eden then Plumas, later returning to run the family farm. In 1957 he married Helen Elsie Choropita of Inglis, MB. After nine more years of farming he moved his family to Winnipeg where he took on the position of President of the Farmers Union. In 1969 Ken started (with the assistance of other growers) an organic products business. He dedicated his remaining working years successfully running and building this business, of which the last 13 years he had his son Richard working by his side. This also included two years of operation in Minnesota, U.S.A. Ken and Helen then retired to Neepawa in June of 1999. Kens other interests included playing and coaching hockey, hunting and camping, card playing and dancing. It is with saddened hearts that his family says goodbye to him and he will be missed by all. Memorial service will be held in Whites Funeral Chapel, Neepawa on Friday, July 13 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. George Cargo officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa has been entrusted with arrangements.
