WILFRED FAYANT On Sunday, July 8, 2001 at the Ste. Rose General Hospital, Wilfred Fayant passed away at the age of 73 years. Wilfred was born on November 26, 1927 in Valpoy, MB to Peter and Valentine Fayant (nee Neault). He was raised on the farm and went to school at Valpoy. Following his education, Wilfred worked as a farm labourer until he left the local area to pursue a career in carpentry. Wilfred travelled and spent most of his working life in the Northwest Territories. He moved back to Ste. Rose du Lac upon his retirement. Wilfred was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, George, Maurice and Alex; and one sister Bertha Strasdin; and by his mother and father-in-law, Antoine and Martha Ferec. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories, his wife Mary of Dauphin; his sisters, Delima and Joe Altenberg of Ste. Rose du Lac, Marie Fair of Dauphin, Agnes Schooley of Yale, BC, Helen Symonds of Ste. Rose du Lac and Amelda Fayant of BC; his brother Louis Fayant and wife Diane of Fork River, MB; his daughters, Carol and family of Yale and Lynette and family of Beausejour, MB. Wilfred will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, stepchildren and extended family. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ste. Rose Cemetery. Fr. Michel Nault will officiate. All of Wilfreds friends are to consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Wilfred to the Prevost Foundation, in care of the Ste. Rose General Hospital, the Dr. Gendreau Memorial Personal Care Home, or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Ste. Rose Memorial Chapel, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB in care of arrangements. (204) 447-2444.
