ALFRED LAUFERSWEILER Born in Ridgeville, January 13, 1913, peacefully on July 11, 2001 with his family at his side, Alfred Laufersweiler went to his eternal rest. Predeceased by his father Rudolf; mother Eva; wife Rose; sisters, Louise and Elsie; and brother Walter. Alfred will be lovingly remembered by his brother Leonard and sister-in-law Margaret; sister Evelyn; daughter Marjorie and husband Theodore; daughter Shirley and husband Vince; daughter Audrey and husband Cliff; and only son Reginald and wife Yvonne. Also he will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Debora (Dave), Shelley (friend Terry), Kim (Mel), Robin (friend Dana), Jamie (friend Cheri), Rock Roy, Roxanna Rae (Joey), Maureen, Sherry, Cora (Rick) and 18 great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. Alf worked in his fathers business hauling cream to Modern Dairies in Winnipeg from Ridgeville. The cream was picked up from many farms in the distant towns. After grandpa Rudy passed away, dad worked in the elevators for a few years. The last job was in Winnipeg where he and his wife resided with daughter Marjorie and son-in-law Ted. This job was with Nelson River Construction and kept him busy into his 70s; even then he wasnt ready to quit. Alfs grandchildren kept him busy and he always took time to drive them to their various activities. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13 at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, 7 Tudor Cres. Pastor Carol Janke officiating. Interment will be at Ridgeville, South Ridge Cemetery. Alfs pallbearers are Glenn Laufersweiler, Douglas Loughhead, Ken Lenton, Jamie Lane, Dave Prefontaine, Kristopher Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Alfs grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family extends their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at the Middlechurch Home where he resided from January 1993 until his passing.
