ROGER ROBERT DEPRES It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Roger Depres at his summer home in the Whiteshell at the age of 79 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Cathryn; his brother George Depres and sister-in-law Frances; nieces and nephews, Gina Hoe (Nelson), George Depres (Tracey), Robert Depres (Pam), Lisa Bohonos (Jay), and Cara Harland (John) as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Louise and Rene Depres. Roger was born on August 10, 1921 in his family home on Selkirk Avenue. He attended the Immaculate Conception School and later at St. Pauls High School. Upon graduation, he went to work for the C.P.R. Roger spent several years in the Air Force after he married Cathy in 1944. He then returned to the C.P.R. after the war and worked as the Chief Accountant in the local freight office. Roger was a very active person in the St. James Community. He was instrumental in the start-up of the St. James Canadians Hockey Team where he later became club president. He was also president of the Deer Lodge Community Club and was an active member of the Deer Lodge Curling Club where he became president and eventually a "lifetime member" which he was very proud of. After 57 years of marriage, Roger will be greatly missed by Cathy, family and friends both in the city and at White Lake. The family is very grateful for the kindness and support given by Hart Schmidt, Art Rempel, and Sue Stirling. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the chapel of Edward J. Coutu Ltd., 680 Archibald St., on Saturday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Fred Olds officiating. In care of arrangements: EDWARD J. COUTU LTD. FUNERAL DIRECTOR 680 ARCHIBALD STREET 253-5086
