JOHN EINAR SAVILAAKSO It is with deep sadness the family announces the sudden passing of John Einar Savilaakso on July 12, 2001 at the age of 75 years. Einar leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 49 years, Helvi. His loving daughters, Anneli of Winnipeg, Christine (John) and grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan and Jeffrey of Yorkton, niece Susan (Len), great-niece Jessica; his brother Laurie (Joyce) of Ontario, nieces, Linda, Karen, Brenda and nephew Brian; sister Anja (Henry) in Sweden; sister-in-law Kaisu (Melvin) and family; brothers-in-law, Esko and Tauno and families in Finland; and good friend Len Hanishewski. Einar was born in Oulu, Finland, July 22, 1925 and came to Canada in 1951. He was a painter / decorator by trade and in retirement Einar and Helvi enjoyed many winters in Texas. He loved being at the cottage in Ontario, and truly enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren as long as they didnt catch any fish bigger than his. He also enjoyed blueberry picking and gardening and was an avid sports fan. Darts, pool and chess were other favourite pastimes. Einar had a special place in his heart for his furry friend Mick. The family would like to thank Dr. Gabriel Lemoine for his care and compassion. Also, they would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Ste. Annes Hospital for the excellent care received by Einar. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date at the cottage.
