Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILBUR GEORGE VAN WALLEGHEM Peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Wilbur George Van Walleghem went to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 14, 2001. Wilbur was pre-deceased by his wife, Angela; parents, Adolf and Elodie; daughter, Joan Michel; siblings, Alice, Jerome, Cyrilla, and Walter; son-in-law Francois Michel; and two great-grandchildren, Stephen and Sarah. He is survived by his sons, Albert (Lillian), George (Fran), Maurice (Cecile) and daughter Marlene (Laurie) Cleutinx; 18 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren; and one brother Omer (Marguerite). Dad was born in Winnipeg on August 26, 1907. From an early age, he was involved in the dairy business with his father. In 1930, Dad and Mom married and in 1932 they started their own dairy business known as Regal Dairies. Their farm was located where today stand Lindenwood Estates and Ecole Van Walleghem School which is named after Dad. Dad was a genuinely kind and generous person, always willing to help others. He had great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always active in the Belgian community. He was president of the Belgian Club for 28 years and was also active in pigeon racing, Belgian bowling, 10 pin bowling, curling, darts, and card playing. Our sincere appreciation is extended to the caregivers WRHA Home Care, the Palliative Care Program, Dr. Cameron and Dr. Marr for the wonderful care and support they gave Dad and the family. With the support of these professionals, Dad was able to fulfil his final wish of spending his last days at home. Mass of the Christian Burial to celebrate Dads life will be held at the St. John Brebeuf Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place on Tuesday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. Fr.
