BOZENA (BEATRICE) NOVOTNY We announce with profound sadness and sorrow that our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Beatrice Novotny passed away peacefully on July 13, 2001. She was born in Knezdub, Moravia on March 17, 1911, which was then part of the Austral-Hungarian Empire. She resided in Manitoba since the age of 19. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, son Roland and grandson Benji. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Barbara), George (fiancee Patricia) and Jim (Elaine) daughters, Beatrice, Rosemary, (Victor), Martie (Billy) and Lydia (George). Also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins here in Canada, the USA, the Czech Republic and scattered about as far as New Zealand. As a Roman Catholic, she received great comfort in reading her Bible. During the last few years she attended Mass at St. Anthony of Padua. A most sincere "Thank you" goes to Father McGrath who always made her feel special with his cheerful, friendly and caring manner. Also "Thanks" to Constables Santiago and May who attended at the residence and offered courteous and compassionate assistance to members of the family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m., also in the Chapel with Father Terance McGrath officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeffrey Novotny, Rick and Rob Exner, Roger and Jerry Culleton; great-grandsons, Bryce Pennie, Keith Price and Nick Antonopoulos. It was mothers wish that flowers be gratefully declined, however, if so desired, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
