VIOLA MAY WANDOWICH (nee McFARLANE) It is with sadness we announce that Viola May Wandowich passed away on July 15, 2001 and has gone to join her husband Bert who passed away on August 6, 1993. Her loved ones were with her. Viola was born in Winnipeg and lived here all her life. Viola is survived by her son Donald and wife Brenda and special grandson Courtney. Daughter Linda May and husband Karl Maxon and special granddaughter Rachelle of Eugene, OR, USA, and other family members. She was predeceased by her father William McFarlane (1973) and mother Daisy May McFarlane (1932), brother William (1932) and brother Charles (April 22, 2001). Viola was a loving mother and grandmother and always helping friends. She loved her cottage and spent many years at Boundry Park, Winnipeg Beach, with her husband tending to flowers and visiting good neighbours or travelling; Victoria, BC being their favourite destination. She was an active member of St. Annes Anglican Church, transferring from St. Barnabas where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Also a member of St. Bartholomews Anglican Church, Winnipeg Beach, where Bert and she enjoyed Sunday services and friendships. Mom took great pride in her family history on both her Scottish and Icelandic sides. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her special friends for calls and keeping in touch: Janice, Nancy, Marion, Ann, Richard and Lorna and Sheila. Special thanks to all the palliative staff at the St. Boniface Hospital who provided special care to Mom. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., with the Rev. Greg Clark officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Denny McFarlane, Frank Mravec, Gary Palmar, Richard Kirkpatrick. If friends desire, donations in Violas memory may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M7, or The Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Give Now I would rather have one little rose >From the garden of a friend, Than have the choicest flowers when my stay on earth must end. I would rather have one pleasant word In kindness said to me Than flattery when my heart is still, And life has ceased to be. I would rather have a loving smile From friends I know are true Than tears shed round my casket, When this world I bid adieu. Blossoms bring to me today Whether pink or white or red; Id rather have one blossom now than a room full when Im dead. "We Love you always" - your Children NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
