JOSEPH (STOTT) REDFERN Joseph (Stott) Redfern passed away on July 15, 2001, after a lengthy illness. Stott was predeceased by his wife Grace; brothers, Harry and Charlie; sisters, Tannis, Eva, and Laura. Stott will be lovingly remembered by his only son Gerry (Gerald) Stott Redfern and his wife Irene; grandsons, Kyle (wife Susanne) and Alfred (friend Christine) and great-grandson Adam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Stott was born on August 11, 1909 in Fort Rouge and was raised in Kirkfield Park and spent the rest of his life living in Charleswood. He was married August 15, 1942 to Grace Helen Cook. He served in the navy overseas in the Second World War and was an active member for many years with Army and Navy No. 283, serving as president of Provincial Command. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Charleswood Branch No. 63, the Shriners Drum & Bugle Corp, Charleswood Legion, Charleswood Curling Club, and the Charleswood Golf Course. He worked for the federal government until his retirement. Stott and his family also enjoyed more than 40 summers at West Hawk Lake and "Camp" at Sioux Lookout. Stott adored his wife Grace, who passed away before him on March 14, 1993. He was well liked and was very generous, always lending a helping hand when needed. Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
