Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORG HANS WOLFRAM GUGGENBERGER After a brief illness on July 17, 2001 at Edmonton, Alberta, Georg Guggenberger passed away at the age of 67 years. Georg was born June 27, 1934 in Frankfurt Am Main in Germany. He immigrated to Canada on April 8, 1957. Georg began working in Timmins, ON in the mining industry and was transferred to Rankin Inlet to work in a copper mine. Severely injured in a mining accident in Rankin Inlet, he was transferred to Winnipeg, MB to convalesce and remained a resident of Winnipeg for the remainder of his life. Georg began his career as a salesman selling imported goods from Europe. He loved being a salesman and developed his skills constantly. He became the Sales Manager for Metals Industries and enjoyed a long and successful career in the agricultural equipment industry. Georg was predeceased by his wife Meta (nee Lange) in 1974 and his parents in Frankfurt, Germany. Georg was a member of the German Society of Winnipeg and the Kolping Society. He leaves to mourn his step-granddaughter Angela Johnson (Greg) of Summerland, BC and step-great-grandchildren, Madison, Kiefer and Keegan. Georg is also fondly remembered by his longtime companion Hillary Van Der Vliet. Friends may pay their respects at Prayers on Sunday, July 22, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 23, at St. Josephs Church, 355 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB at 10:00 a.m. The interment will take place at Brookside Cemetary. A reception for friends will follow at St. Josephs Church at 11:30 a.m. Father Diosdado Parrenas officiating. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements 586-8044.
