KENNETH LAWRENCE DWYER Peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 19, 2001, Kenneth Lawrence Dwyer lost his battle with cancer at the age of 67 years. Ken was predeceased by his son David; and his parents, Irene and Foster Dwyer. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret of 45 years; sons, Patrick (Cam), Ken (Barbara) and Donald; grandchildren, Madelaine, William and Renee; his sister Shirley; as well as many close family and friends. Ken was born on August 5, 1933 in Pleasantdale, SK. He spent his early childhood in Montreal before moving to Flin Flon until 1952. At the age of 18, Ken enlisted with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and served in Korea where he was awarded numerous medals. Ken moved to Winnipeg after Korea where he began his career as a plumber. He was a member of Union Local 254 for 43 years and worked for Randall Plumbing and Heating for 38 years. Ken also volunteered 25 years of his life to the youth of Lord Roberts Community Centre. He was an avid sports fan and especially a big supporter and shareholder of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. After retirement, he became very active with the Manitoba Lawn Bowling Association. He was a proud winner of four Provincial Championships and participated in four National Championships. Ken will always be in our hearts and will live forever in our memories. A memorial service will be held in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane on Monday, July 23 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Vincent officiating.
