PAULINE SULYMKO On July 18, 2001, Pauline (Baryla) Sulymko, aged 84 years, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital in the company of her children. Pauline was predeceased by her husband John in 1980. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lorraine and friend Nelson; her son Terry and wife Terry; and her granddaughters, Anne-Marie and Julie. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Mary, Pearl, Philip, Paul and Jim. Polly was born on March 12, 1917 and grew up on a homestead farm with her eight brothers and sisters near Mountain Road, MB. She met John at a Saturday night social dance in Neepawa and they were married in 1939. They moved to Winnipeg in 1952 with their two young children. Pauline spent many years raising her family, working as a sales clerk in the mens tie department at The Bay, and later as a market researcher with Statistics Canada. As well, she helped her husband in politics and was actively involved in community service groups. She was also an accomplished writer, loved to travel and take pictures and she took great joy in flowers, her family and her faith in God. Mom and Nana Polly will be forever in our hearts. God Bless. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with Rev. Fr. Isadore Dziadyk, OSBM officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Mom had a long association with the parish and choir of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. Nicholas and would appreciate any donations made to her church.
