ANNA HAJER Anna Hajer was born on November 23, 1904 in Orenburg Russia to Frank A. and Anna Heier (nee Bergen). Anna accepted Christ as her personal saviour in 1927. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith in 1928 and joined the Central M.B. Church in Winnipeg. In the fall of 1926 Anna Heier, together with her brother Frank and wife Anna and her two sisters Kathrina and Susanna, emigrated from Russia to Canada. For about three months Anna worked as a house keeper during the harvest season. She then went to Winnipeg to seek gainful employment. A few years later a small acreage was purchased near Steinbach where they, Anna and her brother and sisters, began a mixed farming operation to allow their parents to join them in Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anna Heier; three husbands, Andrew Tarasenko, John J. Giesbrecht, and William Hajer; three brothers, Peter, Frank and Henry; two sisters, Kathrina and Susanna; step-children, Anne Wiebe (Jake), John M. Giesbrecht, Peter D. Giesbrecht and three grandchildren. She is survived by her step-sons, Abe (Ben) Giesbrecht (Edna), George Giesbrecht (Lydia) and step-daughters-in-law, Susan Giesbrecht, Myrtle Giesbrecht and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Moms niece, Frieda Durksen, who faithfully visited her "Auntie Anna" through the years. Many special thanks to the staff at the Fort Garry Care Center, who so ably served her every need with loving tender care. You really were her friends.
