CONSTANTINE ADAMOPOULOS March 28, 1922 - July 19, 2001 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, god-father and friend on July 19, 2001. Constantine has come the circle of his life, gracefully, courageously and with his family at his side. A man of honour and great inner strength, Constantine would gain strength from his family and his family is forever grateful for the wealth of strength he engaged in us. Constantine was born in Vrahos, Greece on March 28, 1922. He was the eldest of three children born to Aikaterini and Christos and was a caring and dedicated brother to sisters, Vasiliki of Athens and Athanasia of Winnipeg. He served his country during the Second World War and during the last three years of his military service, he was honoured to serve as a proud Evzone guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Athens. Dedicated and determined and blessed with an iron will, Constantine immi-grated to Canada on August 15, 1953 and enjoyed a complete dream of "a better life" for both himself and his family. He shared great pride in his heritage and his Canadian identity. He established himself as a successful restaurant entrepreneur. Taking pride in meticulous attention to his cuisine and customer satisfaction. He set precedents to the service of Greek cuisine in Winnipeg. He served the Greek community and St. Demetrios Church in many capacities including serving on the Board of Directors, and is also a proud lifetime member of the AHEPA Fraternity working for education and humanity, where he also served as president. He leaves to remember his life, "Manouli," his wife Angela of 44 years; his eldest daughter Katherina, his second daughter Irene and her husband John; his son Chris and wife Lisa. "Pappouli" will be greatly missed by his four beautiful grandchildren, Angela, Christine, Alexander and Stephen. His two sisters and their families and many friends and relatives, both in Greece and in Canada join us in grief and sorrow. We wish to thank all the staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care for their endurance and compassion. Prayers will be held on Monday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the AHEPA Educational Foundation, in care of AHEPA CJ8, 2255 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
