DR. CHEN, JUSTIN CHI-HAN B.Sc., B.Sc.(Med), M.D., LL.B Our precious Justin passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 15, 2001 at the age of 29 years. Cherished son of Mr. Charlie Tien-Ming Chen and Mrs. Chao Chen of Winnipeg, MB. Beloved and treasured brother of Ingrid, Judy and husband Andrew, and Vincent. He will be sadly missed by nephew Jordan, "daughter" Calista Meow-Jeh and friends in Winnipeg and Ottawa. He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Mrs. Lee-Kuei Chen, Mrs. Shien Chen; and grandfather Chi-Fa Huang of Taiwan. Survived by his grandfather Mr. Shien-Toa Chen of Taiwan. Justin was born in Toronto, ON on February 5, 1972. Raised in Winnipeg he attended the University of Manitoba where he received his Bachelors of Science Degrees (B.Sc., B.Sc. Med). In 1996, also at the University of Manitoba, his lifelong goal to become a doctor was realized when he obtained his Medical Degree. Justin moved to Ottawa in 1996 and received his Family Medicine Degree in 1998 from the University of Ottawa where he became the Chief Resident at the Hopital Montfort. He practiced medicine both in Ontario and Quebec until present day. Justin was fluent in French, spending summers studying the language at Universite de Trois Riviere, McGill and Montreal. Justins passion to serve the community and to improve himself through knowledge brought him to the Faculty of Common Law, University of Ottawa. He proudly obtained his Law Degree in June 2001. Justin had an uncommon passion for life, giving himself selflessly to the community, his friends, his family and his profession. Friends and colleagues may pay their respects at a funeral service at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie Dr., on Wednesday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the St. Vital Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the "Dr. Justin C.H. Chen Memorial Fund", University of Ottawa, Law Faculty, Common Law Section, P.O. Box 450, Station A, Ottawa, ON K1N 6N5 would be appreciated.
