JANE (JEAN) SCOTT NELSON (NEILSON) On July 20, 2001 Jean quietly passed away at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 88. Jean is survived by her daughter Patricia Nesbitt (Jim) sister Margaret Duke; grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Christina, Karen, Billy, Leo, Scott, Wendy, Cathy, Patricia, Robert; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jean was predeceased by her mother Sarah Neilson (Boyd) (1947) father John Neilson (December 17, 1973) sister May Winfield (October 13, 1996) husband Trp. Leo Nelson C.A.C. (July 1944) daughter Florence Sturgeon (February 5, 1993) and son John (Jack) Nelson (December 26, 1994). Jean was born April 3, 1913 in Winnipeg, MB, where she lived all her life. Jean was married October 11, 1930. In the war time and after, Jean looked after foster babies, for which she loved and talked of often. She spent her spare time with crochet, knitting and sewing. Keeping her hands busy was her greatest love. Crossword puzzles were never far away and her faith in the bible got her through the rough times. As a widow, Jean became housekeeper and Nanny for Leonard Thompson (October 6, 1977) and his three children, Helen, Jean, and Marlyne. Later in life, Jeans treasured times where when she could spend time with her grandchildren. She loved watching people having fun and had a great sense of humour, even at the darkest moments, Jean could make people smile. Jeans character and strong will presented itself in so many ways. Always available with a leaning ear and support where required. Jean was devoted to the Calvary Temple and enjoyed singing along. Jean was good hearted, quietly loving, and proud of all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jean will be sadly missed by her family and friends. We wish to thank Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Concordia Hospital and River East Personal Care Home for their care and support. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Following cremation a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 4:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
