GABRIELLA DOSZPOD On July 23, 2001, with her family by her side, at Riverview Health Centre after a short battle with leukemia, Gabriella Doszpod aged 72 years passed away peacefully. She is survived by her husband Imre; sons, Henry and Daniel (Kathryn) granddaughter Jade; grandson Dana; sister Anna (Frank) brothers, Rudy (Zita), Victor (Margaret), and many nieces and nephews and relatives in Toronto, Detroit and Hungary. She was predeceased by her parents, Rosa (nee Rieger) and Rudolph Santa. Gabriella was born in Ronok, Hungary in 1928 and spent her early years there. She met Imre in 1954. In 1956, they fled across the Iron Curtain to Austria where they were married. They subsequently immigrated to Canada and began a new life together in Winnipeg, where she resided until her passing. She worked at R. Santa Furs until her retirement. She loved gardening, the outdoors and attending St. Ignatius Church. She also belonged to the seniors bowling league at Dakota Lanes and enjoyed the camaraderie of her team-mates. She loved her family more than anything and will be sadly missed by all. A special thanks to the staff at Health Sciences Centre and Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. Urn placement will follow at Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Flowers are gratefully declined.
