IRENE HUTT On July 21, 2001, at Riverview Health Centre, Auntie Irene passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years. Irene was born in Berkshire, England, the second daughter of Aubrey and Anne Martha Hutt. The family immigrated to Canada in 1911, settling in Winnipeg where Auntie lived, worked, and developed her uniquely independent lifestyle. She was a lifetime employee of Eatons Mail Order, Dept. 119, and enjoyed being a part of the Eatons "family". She kept her connection with Eatons alive long after her retirement in 1962. We will miss Auntie Irene for many reasons. She was always there to help when needed, and her astutely witty, very funny sense of humour was an important part of her positive attitude toward life. Her passing marks the "end of an era" for the Hutt family. Besides her parents, who she cared for until their passing, Irene was predeceased by her sister Dorothy McKenzie, brother Cecil Hutt, and brother Jack Hutt. Auntie Irene is survived by nephews, Bob Hutt (Meadford, ON), David Hutt (Airdrie, AB), Dennis Hutt (Vancouver, BC) nieces, Audrey Wheatland (Winnipeg, MB), Marylou Johnston (Barrie, ON), Lois Hitchman (Kitchener, ON), Doreen Cane, and their families. Surviving also is her good friend and sister-in-law Louise Hutt (Barrie, ON). Our heartfelt thanks go out to Pat Yamada and her "crew" on CD4. Your care and attention given so warmly to Auntie Irene has been most helpful to all involved. Irenes wish to be cremated has been honoured; interment will be at St. Vital Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate the life of this "one-of-a-kind" lady will be held in the Chapel at Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave. E., Winnipeg, on Wednesday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Linda Churchill officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick, Brendan, Brian and Michael Nagle and their families, and special great-great-niece Kami Nagle. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, CD4 Unit, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg MB R3L 2P4 would be greatly appreciated. Rest is peace, Auntie. You have done well.
