FERNAND LEON MORIER 24 janvier 1925 - 22 juillet 2001 Paisiblement Fernand Leon, age de 76 ans, a quitte son corps ravage par la maladie Alzheimer afin de rejoindre Raymonde son epouse de 48 ans qui la predecede par 49 jours. Il a ete predecede par ses soeurs Elise et Lucie et ses freres Henri et Paul. Il laisse dans le deuil ses deux filles Gisele et son epoux Ed Kosowski, Rita et son epoux Maurice Roy, sept petits enfants Stephan, Noah, et Marco Kosowski; Arielle, Cedric, Emilie et Maxime Morier-Roy, ainsi que trois freres, Augustin, dOrleans, ON, Emile de la Colombie-Britanique, Vincent de Winnipeg et deux soeurs, Henriette Lesaux de Kenora, ON, et Justine Therrien de La Broquerie, MB. Fernand est ne le 24 janvier 1925 a La Broquerie. Jeune homme il travailla la terre familiale pour aider a sa mere veuve. Fernand exerca plusieurs metiers dans sa vie. Il travailla dans les chantiers de bois en Ontario, comme forgeron dans les ateliers de CN, comme porteur pour le train CN et comme chaudronnier. Cest durant cette periode quil subit un accident grave qui la laisse infirme. Il a repris les livres detude pour devenir un operateur de machines fixes et demeura a ce poste pour 18 ans au Fort Osborne Complex et Manitoba Youth Centre jusqua sa retraite. Il sinteressa au baseball, la peche, la chasse et au jardinage. Il a consacre beaucoup de son temps au Chevaliers de Colomb, Club La Verendrye et Fils Natifs dont il etait president pour dix ans. Il passa les trois dernieres annees de sa vie au Centre Tache. La famille desire remercier les unites 5ABC et 4ABC pour leurs soins attentifs et le soutien accordes a nos parents. Au lieu de fleurs, les parents et les amis peuvent sils le desirent faire un don a la memoire de Fernand a la Societe Alzheimer du Manitoba, 120 rue Donald, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Les prieres auront lieu au Salon mortuaire Desjardins, 357, rue Des Meurons le mercredi 25 juillet a 19h00. Le service sera celebre a leglise Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 avenue Dussault le jeudi 26 juillet a 14h00. La direction des funerailles de Monsieur Fernand Leon Morier a ete confiee au Salon mortuaire Desjardins, 233-4949; sans frais 1-888-233-4949. FERNAND LEON MORIER January 24, 1925 - July 22, 2001 Fernand Leon peacefully left the ravages of Alzheimers disease at 76 years of age to join his loving wife of 48 years, Raymonde, who predeceased him by 49 days. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elise and Lucie; and his brothers, Henri and Paul. He is survived by his daughters, Gisele and husband Ed Kosowski, Rita and husband Maurice Roy; seven grandchildren, Stephan, Noah and Marco Kosowski; Arielle, Cedric, Emilie and Maxime Morier-Roy. He is also survived by brothers, Augustin of Orleans, ON, Emile of British Columbia, Vincent of Winnipeg; and sisters, Henriette Lesaux of Kenora, ON and Justine Therrien of La Broquerie, MB. In addition, he leaves to mourn many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Fernand was born January 24, 1925 in La Broquerie where he tended to the family farm with his widowed mother. Fernand worked at many occupations. He farmed and kept bees, worked in bush camps in Ontario, as a blacksmith in the CN blacksmith shops, as a porter on the CN trains, and as a boilermaker until a serious industrial accident disabled him. He retrained and returned to work as a stationary engineer for 18 years at the Fort Osborne Complex and Manitoba Youth Centre until he retired. He enjoyed baseball, gardening, fishing and hunting. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Club La Verendrye and Native Sons for which he was president for 10 years. The last three years of his life were spent at Tache Centre. The family wishes to thank the staff on 5ABC and 4ABC for the support and compassion offered to our parents in these trying years. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Prayers will take place on Wednesday, July 25 in the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. in Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens Church, 289 Dussault Ave. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949; toll free 1-888-233-4949.
