MARY GODAL December, 1931 - July, 2001 Suddenly on Monday, July 23, 2001, Mary passed away at the age of 69 years. She was predeceased by her husband Koloman in 1980, her mother Kate, and by her father Mike. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Gail (Bill) Candline, Conanie (Larry) Scarth, and Donna (Grnt) Green; her much loved grandchildren, Keith Candline, Adam Scarth, and Kate-Lynn Green; her sister Janet Lowry from Ontario; and her brothers, Dan Zember, also from Ontario, and Fred Borman from Alberta. Also left to mourn are her sister-in-law Ollie Godal and her brother-in-law Albert Godal, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Hamilton, ON, Mary came to Manitoba for a cousins wedding. Here she met Koloman and they married on June 14, 1952. Once her three daughters were old enough, she re-entered the work force at Gambles Department Store. Mary made a career change starting as a file clerk at Princess Auto and Machinery and ended her career 17 years later as an inventory control clerk. In her retirement, Mary thrived on watching her grandchildren grow and cruising the Caribbean with Ollie and Albert. She was a special mom, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, relative, friend and neighbour and will be missed by all. For those who choose, flowers in memory of Mom will be most gratefully accepted as would any donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. The memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane.
