CLIFFORD GIBSON MYERS Clifford Gibson Myers of Edmonton passed away on July 22, 2001 at the age of 73. Cliff was born on January 1, 1928 in Cannington Manor, SK. In the mid 1930s the family moved to the Glenella area of Manitoba, then moved to the Grandview area where they farmed for many years. He spent his early years as a surveyor with Kilgour and Linklater, then owned and operated successive hotels in Elk Horn and Morris, MB. He moved to Edmonton in 1980 to take a position with the Real Estate Services Department of the federal government until his retirement in 1998. Cliff is survived by his wife, Jackie; three stepsons, Greg (Colleen), Barry (Carol) and Charles (Grace - deceased) Catt; grandchildren, Russell and Megan of Calgary, Jennifer and Douglas of Edmonton, and Jaycee Lyn of Winnipeg; his brother Vern (Vera) of Comox, BC; niece Mary Lou Philling, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Rollo and Irene Mary Myers; sisters, Iva Cross and Norma Floyde; and brother Elmer Myer. Cliff was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, gardening and even helping with farm harvests in recent years. He was never without a dog as a companion and over the years they provided him a spacial joy. Upon retirement, Cliff was very active with the Millwoods Breakfast Lions Club, giving unsparingly of his time and energy. A memorial service celebrating Cliffs life will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Millwoods Presbyterian Church, 6607 31 Ave., Edmonton with Pastor Ken Wheaton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1200 College Plaza, 8215 112 St., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2C8 or to the Edmonton S.P.C.A.
