DEMETRO (MIDDY) NESPLAK Peacefully on July 22, 2001 at the Concordia Hospital, Demetro (Middy) Nesplak passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Middy is survived by his loving wife Evelyn; son Richard, his wife Allison and grandchildren, Kirstie, Aidan and Qwinnton; and daughter Mona Phillip and her husband Bob. Also left to mourn his passing are his surviving brothers and sisters, Polly, John, Mike, Anne, and Harry; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard, Bill, Lawrence, Melvyn, Ted, Carrie, and Leona; as well as their families. Middy was born in the R.M. of Springfield on May 26, 1931, the youngest of nine children. He was employed with CN Rail for most of his working life, retiring in 1991. Middy was an avid sports fan and followed the progress of his favourite teams and players until his passing. He developed a love of golf as a young boy and over the years enjoyed the time spent playing golf with his brothers and friends while his health permitted. Middy had a good sense of humour and always had a joke to share with family and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered support, comfort and encouragement throughout this difficult time. A special thank you to all the staff at Concordia Hospital for their kindness, care and concern. Cremation and burial has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, or to a charity of ones choice.
