DAVID J. HILL David J. Hill of Miniota, MB (formerly of Dauphin, MB) passed away July 10, 2001, in the Hamiota District Health Center. A memorial service was held on July 13 at Dauphin, with interment in the Miniota Cemetery. Dave is survived by his wife Joyce of 50 years; four children, Lloyd Hill (Fern Lockwood), Calgary, Karen Hill (Brian Greaves), Miniota, Doreen Maxin (Bob), Winnipeg, Bryan Hill, Calgary; and four grandchildren. Dave was born June 18, 1920, one of eight children born to William Herman Hill and Agnes Mary Long. Two sisters, Mabel Lewis and Joy Webber; and a brother Raymond Hill survive him. Dave was raised and educated in Miniota. He joined the Air Force in 1939 and served overseas on Coastal Command. After his discharge in 1945, he attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He served as a Provincial Agricultural Representative in Dauphin for 34 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the first D.M.C.C. Board, a life member of the Dauphin Agricultural Society, a Rotarian for 40 years, and a resource person with the 4H program for many years. He moved back to Miniota in 1999 to the farm he grew up on.
