LARRY SHEWCHUK On Thursday, July 26, 2001 after a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer, Larry passed away peacefully and with dignity with his beloved wife Elise by his side. Larry will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his "sweetie" Elise, children, Emilie and Marc; his parents, Mike and Carol Shewchuk; sister Lisa and husband Marshall and her children, Michael and Melissa; in-law parents, Jean and Rene Menard; and numerous friends and family members, especially his cousin David. Larry was born on August 12, 1957 in Winnipeg, and spent his childhood years in Brooksland. Larrys love of travel led him to reside in Edmonton and Vancouver. In 1992 Larry moved to Seven Sisters Falls to his "home on the river," and married his "sweetie" Elise. He was previously employed by University Radio in Manitoba and Edmonton and CBC Radio. He was currently employed by AECL in Pinawa. His job included much travelling and he was fortunate to visit many places around the world including England, France, Germany, China, Korea and Greece. Larry had many hobbies including music, short wave radio, curling, golf and baseball and met many people and made many friends who shared his interests. Larry had a profound impact on those who knew and loved him. Larry was a unique individual, who lived his life to the fullest. We will always remember his quick wit and crooked smile. Although he was with us for a short time, Larry had a very full and happy life accomplishing and doing more than most people can only dream of. A celebration of Larrys Life will take place on Sunday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion Street. Donations may be made in Larrys memory to the CancerCare MB Foundation, 674 McDermot Ave. Room ON109 Wpg., Mb., R3E 0V9. P. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 156 Marion Street 949-4864
