LOUISE CHRISTINE HILL (nee ANDERSON) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Louise, on Thursday, July 26, 2001 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli. Louise was born in Gimli on October 1,1940 and was a lifelong resident of the community. Louise leaves to cherish her memory, Doug her husband of 43 years, sons, Warren (Ruby) and Vern (Kristine). Louise will leave behind her cherished grandsons, Daniel, Josh, Stuart, Cody, Skyler and Tayler. Louise will be missed by her sister Shirley Disney and brother Leonard Anderson. Louise also leaves behind her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruth and Carol Anderson, Garry, Murray, Hilda, Joyce Hill, Dave and Elaine Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Gisli and Kristine Anderson, brother Roy, her mother and father-in-law, Percy and Margaret, and her brother-in-law Bill Disney. Mom will be dearly missed by her bingo partners, Aggie, Kitty, Wally and Mary and her many friends. Before retiring due to health problems, Louise worked at B.C. Packers, Tip Top Foods and was a key player in establishing Stormin Norms Saddlery in Gimli during the early 70s. Her love for horses led to her serving on the executive of the local horse club, her love for her sons led her to sit as "Den mother" for the cub scout troop. To a few select customers Louise was also known as the "Perogy lady", she had the most tender dough in town. Despite the fact that Moms health was poor for many years, she was always able to maintain her sense of humour. After surviving heart surgery this spring, we realized how strong her will to live was, this strong spirit and memory will live on in those that knew her best. The family would like to thank Dr. R.C. Patel and the staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital for the care and patience that they showed Mom over the years. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30 at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli with Pastor Trudy Sluth officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her close friends, Neil Baldwinson, Bruce Giesbrecht, Bobby Johnson, Norm Valgardson and Wayne Wright. Flowers are gratefully declined, instead donations may be made to the Community Health Centre Fund, Box 1710, Gimli, MB, R0C 1B0. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
