Vivian was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1956, son Benny in 1942, and brother Ernest in 1943. She will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her daughter Linda Groff, son-in-law Merrill; grandson David, wife Michele, and great-granddaughter Ashley; grandson Derek, wife Betty, and great-granddaughters, Meagan and Alison. Vivian was born on August 25, 1905 in Starbuck, the only daughter of the late George and Christina (Tillie) Dunlop and was raised in Starbuck, MB. She married Gordon Wrixon in July 1931 and together they farmed in Starbuck until Gordons death in 1956. Moving to Winnipeg in spring 1957, Vivian taught at Success Business College and subsequently kept books for Gateway Packers for a number of years. Vivian loved to travel and in her retirement travelled to Hawaii, England, Switzerland and many other places. She loved baseball and instilled this love of the game in her grandsons. Besides watching the games on TV, she travelled with her grandsons to Toronto, Minneapolis and Chicago to see the games in the major league parks. Nanas special joy was her family. She loved spending time with her grandsons, their wives and children, daughter Linda and son-in-law Merrill, whom she regarded as a son. A memorial service to celebrate Vivians life will be held on Monday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd. A special thank you to the staff on the fifth floor of Golden West Centennial Lodge for their loving care of "Nana" for the past three and one-half years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8. We will always miss her. We feel it is merciful that she has finally found peace and freedom from pain. Life is a Book in Volumes Three The Past, The Present and the yet to be. The first is done and laid away, The second were writing day by day. The third and last of the Volumes Three Is locked from sight, God keeps the key. There is a bridge of golden memories. From here to Heaven above, That keeps you very close to us, Its called the bridge of love, Your memory is our keepsake With which well never part; God has you in His keeping We have you in our hearts. Those we love dont go away They walk beside us everyday; Unseen, unheard, but always near Loved, missed and very dear. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 232 Kennedy Street949-4878
