HOWARD KARASICK Howard Karasick, beloved husband of Sarah, and father of Faye Ann, Mark, and Michael, died at Grace Hospital, on July 26, 2001. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer. He was born in 1927 in Winnipeg, spent his childhood in Fenwood Saskatchewan and lived the remainder of his life in Winnipeg. He graduated from medical school in 1955 and became a well-known and respected physician at the Winnipeg Clinic. As an obstetrician and gynaecologist he brought many lives into this world, bringing joy to many families. As a teacher, he passed his knowledge, experience, and love of medicine on to his students. Despite his quiet way, those who knew him well were fortunate to have experienced his wit, sense of humour and love of the English language. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sarah, his three children and his mother, Sara. The funeral service will be held at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, on Sunday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a consolation meal at the clubhouse at 65 Swindon Way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Howards memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or any other charity of your choice.
