Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWASYL CHUBEY After a lengthy illness, Wasyl Chubey of the Vita Personal Care Home, passed away on July 28, 2001, at the age of 85 years. Wasyl will be lovingly remembered by brother Nick (Jean) sisters, Nellie Ostrowsky, Effie (Krist) Christiuk, Violet (Victor) Zinyk; sisters-in-law Mary and Anne; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Tom Chubey; brothers, Andrew, Michael, Paul, Harry, Peter and Steve; sister Mary Rostosky as well as siblings Mary and Alex in infancy. Wasyl was born on March 29, 1916 and lived in Carlowrie, MB. His favorite occupation was working with bees. He served in the army during the Second World War. He enjoyed his stay at the Shady Oak Lodge in Vita, and when his health deteriorated he moved to the Vita Personal Care Home. The family would like to thank his friends at Shady Oak Lodge, the care-givers at the Vita Personal Care Home as well as the doctors and nursing staff at the Vita Hospital for the loving and compassionate care they gave him. Prayers will be held on Monday, July 30, 7:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel, followed by a Celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Tuesday, July 31, 10:00 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Rosa with Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Remembrances in Wasyls name may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Rosa or the Cancer Society of Manitoba.
