Date of Passing: Jul 26, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHANNAH M. JOHNSTON (MOLLY) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Hannah M. Johnston, (Molly), passed away at the age of 92 at Central Park Lodge Downtown on Thursday, July 26, 2001. Hannah was predeceased by her parents, Hannah and Jesse Bottle; brother Jess; husband Bill; son James; grandchildren, John Henry, Richard and Jason. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Kathleen; sons, Bill (Irene), Richard (Bobby), Henry and David; and her daughter-in-law Mary; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. Mom was born in Epson Surrey, England and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1912, where they settle in East Kildonan. Mom was very proud of her heritage, but more proud to be a Canadian living in Manitoba and could be seen wearing her Manitoba Tartan. Mom was very involved in the lives of seniors in this province, always taking the initiative to make their lives better. She became the President of the Old Age Pensioniers Society of Manitoba when she was 48 years old and remained so until they disbanded in the early 1980s. In 1967 she received the Order of the Crocus from the Province of Manitoba for her work with seniors. It was at this time that Mom became involved with Holy Trinity Church, where she became an active member. We would like to thank Holy Trinity Church for not forgetting Mom for although she could not go to them, they still went to her. We would especially like to thank Father Henry for singing our Mother to sleep and making the last moments of her life so peaceful. We would also like to thank the staff of Central Park Lodge, 5th floor, for their kindness and compassion. A celebration of Hannahs life will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing one-half hour prior to the service, in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith St., with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. THANK YOU MOM FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE INSTILLED IN US. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. WE LOVE YOU AND WE WILL MISS YOU DEARLY. ALWAYS REMEMBERED AND NEVER FORGOTTEN. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Voyage Funeral homes, 220 Hespeler (at Henderson Highway) Avenue, 668-3151.
