EDITH CRANSTON Edith Cranston (Horwood) passed away peacefully with her granddaughter Karen at her side on Saturday, July 28, 2001 at Riverview Palliative Care Unit at the age of 92. Mom was born October 3, 1908 in London England. She came to Canada at an early age with her mother and two brothers. Mom worked at Eatons where she met her husband Alex. They were married in 1937. Mom was a very friendly and generous person. Her last seven years have been spent at Villa Nova where she enjoyed the friendship of the residents, especially the card group and her special friend Muriel. Mom belonged to the Margaret L. Hughes Chapter IODE for over 50 years. Mom was predeceased by her husband Alex; great-grandchildren, Luke and Tomas; her mother and two brothers, Bill and Alf. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law Carol and George Potter, Douglas (Gaylene), Karen and Barbara Ownes and the special joys in her life her great-grandchildren, Brandon and Austin Owens, and Samuel Potter. Mom was always ready to travel, have a party or family gathering therefore her wish was to have a reception to celebrate her life. It will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Villa Nova 1035 Wilkes Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Riverview Palliative Care Unit 3E, or a charity of your choice. A special thanks to Dr. Ruth Simkin, Victoria Hospital and Riverview Palliative Care Unit especially Helen, the Barbaras and a special thanks to Chase.
