FREDERICK JOHN GRIMSHIRE Suddenly, on Friday, July 27, 2001, Fred Grimshire passed away at the age of 77 years. Fred will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann (nee Black) his sons, Lawrence (Beverly), Keith, and David (Chris) of Lower Sackville, NS, and his sons John and Bill, Donald (Debbie) and their sons, Mark and Kevin; his daughter Lois (Alan) Wotton and their sons, Michael and Sean; his sister Mary Sandeski of Port Moody, BC; his brother Bill of Vancouver; his sister-in-law Katherine of Hull, QC; his brother-in-law Duncan of Carman, MB; and many nieces and nephews. Fred was born on August 22 of 1923 in Nicola, BC. When he was 18, he joined the Armed Forces at the height of the Second World War and served his country until shortly after he married Mary Ann in 1953. He was employed by the City of Winnipeg until retirement in 1982 at the age of 60, with over 26 years of driving for the Transit Division. After retirement, he contributed much of his time and energy to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, Wild Gobblers Unlimited, and the Prince Edward Legion, Branch 81. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation for the conservation of wildlife at 70 Stevenson Road, Winnipeg MB, R3H 0W7 or to the charity of your choice. Funeral services for Fred will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
