Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFERNANDE (FERN) MARGARET HECTOR On Saturday, July 28, 2001, Fernande Hector, aged 77 years, passed away at the Grace Hospital following a brief illness. Fern is survived by her son Ted (Ferna) brother Fernand Bedard (Kate) and their children. She was pre-deceased by her parents, husband Fred, and her brother Louis Bedard. Also left to mourn her passing are her close friends, Sigga, Wilma, Doreen, Dorothy; and neighbours, Enzo and Monique and their family, Dino, FiFi, and Amanda who were always there for her. Fern was born in Selkirk, MB on November 10, 1923. She spent several years of her schooling at a convent in Winnipeg. She became an accomplished pianist, a skill she enjoyed all her life. In 1945, she married Fred Hector and in 1948, their son Ted was born. Their life in the Air Force took them to many places in Canada and overseas. Fern devoted her life to the home and family. She may be remembered by the fisherman and employees at Booth Fisheries where she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed the work and the people and put in many long hours making sure that the small fisherman had their pay cheques on time. Ted and Ferna wish to express their thanks to the dedicated and caring staff at the Grace Hospital ICU. A memorial service in celebration of Ferns life will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with Fr. Terry McGrath officiating. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
