Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUIS FRANCOIS MOLGAT Louis Francois Molgat est decede paisiblement le 27 juillet 2001 au Foyer Gendreau a Ste-Rose-du-Lac a lage de 87 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil son epouse Blanche (nee Archambault) ses enfants, Anna (Ronald Desilets) et Ernest (Jan) de Winnipeg, Paul (Glenda) de Red Deer, Marguerite (Dave Hughes) de Brandon, Lucie (Stan Mirecki) de Cantley, Quebec; ses petits-enfants, Lisa (Dave Manahan), Jeanne (Kraig Balsiger), Pierre (Linda), Daniel (Cynthia), Philippe, Benoit Desilets, Marc (Rachel), Jean-Paul, Christian, Chatelle, Vincent Molgat, Nicole Hughes, Marie-Noelle et Louis-Felix Molgat-Mirecki; ainsi que 13 arriere petits-enfants. Ne a Ste-Rose-du-Lac, il etait le fils de Joseph Molgat et de Berthe Sabatier. Apres une formation a lEcole Normale de Dauphin, il a enseigne a Ste-Amelie avant de se diriger vers le commerce. Cest avant tout comme marchand et homme daffaires quil sest fait connaitre a Ste-Rose et a Strathclair. Apres une premiere retraite, il est retourne a lenseignement aux ecoles de Laurier et Ste-Rose. Pendant toutes ces annees, Louis sest occupe des jeunes comme entraineur de baseball et de hockey. Son devouement a sa communaute sest aussi manifeste par son infatigable enthousiasme a prelever des fonds pour divers projets et a organiser des activites sociales et culturelles. Louis avait un amour pour la langue francaise, croyait au bilinguisme canadien, etait membre actif de son eglise, du Club Jolly, des Chevaliers de Colomb et du parti Liberal. On se souviendra de Louis comme un homme tres devoue a sa famille qui partageait genereusment de son temps et de ses talents. Lui survivent ses freres Yves (Mary) de Burnaby, Charles (Yvette) de Coquitlam, Herve (Stella) de Laurier; ses beaux-freres et belles-soeurs, Hector, Florence, Gaston, Kay, Cecile, Isabelle, Georgette Archambault et Marie-Rose Gagnon. Ses parents; son frere Gabriel et son epouse Marie; sa soeur Cecile et son epoux Antoine Tardiff; ses beaux-freres et belles-soeurs Andre, Lucien, Raoul, Soeur Yvonne Archambault, Leo Gagnon, Paul et Lucille Moreau lont precede dans la mort. La famille de Louis tient a remercier le personnel du Foyer Gendreau et les professionnels des soins a domicile pour les bons soins quon lui a donne pendant les dernieres annees de sa vie. Au lieu de fleurs, la famille apprecierait un don a sa memoire a la Fondation des maladies du coeur du Manitoba ou a une oeuvre de charite de votre choix. Les prieres seront recitees au salon funeraire Ste-Rose Memorial Chapel le mardi 31 juillet a 19h. Les funerailles auront lieu a lEglise Ste-Rose de Lima a Ste-Rose-du-lac le mercredi 1 aout a 14h. LOUIS FRANCOIS MOLGAT Louis Francois Molgat, beloved husband of Blanche, passed away on July 27, 2001 at the Gendreau Personal Care Home in Ste-Rose-du-Lac at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife Blanche; his children, Anna (Ronald Desilets), Ernest (Jan) of Winnipeg, Paul (Glenda) of Red Deer, AB, Marguerite (Dave Hughes) of Brandon, MB, and Lucie (Stan Mirecki) of Cantley, QC; grandchildren, Lisa (Dave Manahan), Jeanne (Kraig Balsiger), Pierre (Linda), Daniel (Cynthia), Benoit, Philippe Desilets, Marc (Rachel), Jean-Paul, Christian Molgat, Chatelle, Vincent Molgat, Nicole Hughes, Marie-Noelle and Louis-Felix Molgat-Mirecki; and 13 great-grandchildren. Louis spent his formative years in the Ste-Rose-du-Lac area where he began his teaching career. Shortly after his marriage to Blanche Archambault, they moved to Strathclair where they operated a general store for 22 years. His community involvement begain in Strathclair where he showed his commitment to young people by coaching baseball and hockey for many years. After the sale of their business, Louis and his family returned to Ste-Rose where he resumed his teaching career, until his retirement in 1979. Throughout his retirement, Louis was active in fundraising for community projects. Louis loved the French language, believed in Canadian bilingualism, and was an active member of his church, the Jolly Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Liberal Party. Louis will be remembered as a devoted husband and father and as a man who gave generously of his time and talents. Louis is survived by his brothers Yves (Mary) of Burnaby, BC, Charles (Yvette) of Coquitlam, BC, Herve (Stella) of Laurier, MB; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hector, Florence, Gaston, Kay, Cecile, Isabelle, Georgette Archambault and Marie-Rose Gagnon. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Berthe Molgat (nee Sabatier) his brother Gabriel and wife Marie; his sister Cecile and husband Antoine Tardiff; brothers and sisters-in-law, Andre, Lucien, Raoul, Sr. Yvonne Archambault, Leo Gagnon, Paul and Lucille Moreau. The family extends sincere thanks to Home Care and Foyer Gendreau PCH for the excellent care extended to Louis in his latter years. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. Prayers will be held at the Ste-Rose Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste. Rose de Lima Parish in Ste-Rose-du-Lac on Wednesday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. Ste-Rose Memorial Chapel in care of arrangements. Phone: 1-204-447-2444.
