Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY BIHUN With great sadness, we regret to announce the passing of our Mother, Baba and Great-Baba on Monday, June 30, 2001 at St. Boniface Hospital, with her children at her side. Mom was pre-deceased by her husband of 24 years, Nick Horoshok; son Ted Horoshok; grandson Jim Horoshok; parents, Michael and Telkla Pchajek; and second husband Mike Bihun. Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by those whose lives she touched. Left to mourn her passing are her children, son Jim Horoshok and daughter-in-law Pat (of Calgary, AB), daughter Pat Benoit and son-in-law Ron (of Winnipeg) grandchildren, Corrie McGibney (Mark), Randy Horoshok (Margaret), Kelly Quinton (Wayne) (of Calgary), Jody Farmer (Jarad), Nikki Buchannon (Jamie), and Toni Benoit (Jonathan) great-grandchildren, Nicholas Hamilton, Tyler and Riley McGibney, Justin, Aaron, Ashley, Jenna Quinton, Jordan and Hayden Farmer, Casey Benoit, Branden and Nethaniel Benoit. Mom was born November 7, 1913 in Roblin, MB. She was the youngest and last living member of 10 siblings. Mom moved with her family to Rossdale, MB before she settled in Winnipeg. She met and married our father Nick Horoshok in September, 1934. Our parents were young entrepreneurs. They worked very hard side by side until Dads death in 1958. Moms main concern was always the happiness and well-being of her family. She was very small in size but her shoulders were broad enough to carry the load herself when necessary. We all were recipients of Moms unconditional love and unwavering support. She was generous to a fault with her children and grandchildren. Sunday dinners and holidays were extremely special family times with Mom. Those wonderful memories will be with us always and her home was our safe haven. Mom loved life. It wasnt always easy for her, but she showed us how to make the best of it. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing with family and friends. She made friends wherever she went, whether it was at the bowling alley where she was on a league for many years or at her neighbourhood bingo hall. Mom was a warm and caring woman with a contagious laugh that she shared with many. One of Moms special joys were the times she would spend with her family in Calgary. Over the past 20 years she spent almost every Christmas, many Easters and summer holidays there. She would come back home, rest, and happily go back for her next visit. Mom suffered her third stroke this June. She had always shown such strength, whatever the odds. Sadly, her age and her health were not in her favour. God saw that she was so tired and He lovingly granted her peace. Every child should be as fortunate as we were to have a Mom and Baba like ours. Our family thanks Dr. P.G. Mehta for his compassion and care. A very heartfelt thanks to the orderlies and nursing staff of 6A Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital, where Mom spent the last six weeks of her life. Also, we extend our sincere gratitude to Gladys and Eilleen from Home Care. Your genuine concern, your laughter and your care made such a difference in Moms life. You were like family to her and she loved you both. Pallbearers will be Randy Horoshok, Nicholas Hamilton, Glen Horoshok, Jarad Farmer, Jonathan Benoit and Jamie Buchannon. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Sad are the hearts that love you Silent the tears that fall Living our lives without you Will be the hardest part of all. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements 586-8044.
