ANN BAYDAK (nee STEFANISHYN) It is with deep sadness and abiding love that the family announces the peaceful death of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Ann Baydak on August 2, 2001 at the Grace Hospital, with her family by her side. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Katie; her son Richard; also four brothers, Peter, Mike, Matt and Charlie; three sisters, Mary Clark, Lena Shwaluk and Elsie Clark. Ann will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her beloved husband Fred of 65 years; her son Michael (Darlene) grandchildren, Brad (Cheryl), Debbie, Teresa (Brian), Melanie (John) and Scott; seven great-grandchildren, Cara, Dustin, Catlin, Courtney, Zack, Hunter and Cole; also one brother John (Zenova) and one sister Hilda Onysko; sisters-in-law, Ann, Gladys, Lena and Olga; and many nephews and nieces. Ann was born on February 28, 1918 in Angusville. She married Fred Baydak on May 31, 1936 and they farmed in Angusville area for 29 years. In 1965 they moved to Winnipeg. They were devoted parishioners at St. Josaphats Church. She loved her gardening, cooking and sewing. She was filled with love, compassion, zest for living and hospitality. Thank you to Dr. Alder and the staff at the Grace Palliative Care Unit, also special thanks to her sister Hilda, niece Marlene and Peter and Stella Hyska for their help and support. Prayers will be held on Monday, August 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Rev. Andrew Wach officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anns memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
