Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEODORE EUGENE "GENE" LOSIER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theodore Eugene "Gene" Losier on August 1, 2001 at the Grace Hospital after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and asbestosis. Gene was pre-deceased by his parents, Frank and Justine Losier; sisters, Yvonne, Amelia (Lee), Cecelia (Jack) and brothers, Art (Yvette) and Johnny. Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 42 years, Eileen; and son Frank; brothers Vince, Ronald (Diane), Bill (Virginia) sisters, Katie, Gina, Irene, Betty Anne (Gord), Anita; many nieces and nephews all of southern Ontario and New Brunswick. He also leaves many dear friends, especially the Byrne and Lavack families, along with Joyce, Ron and family and extended family members. Born in 1932 in Chatham Head, N.B he served in the RCAF from 1952 to 1968 at various stations across Canada including Alert and Frobisher Bay plus 2 (F) Wing (France). On his release from the Air Force he was employed by CAE Aircraft Ltd until it downsized in 1983. He became a caretaker in the St. James School Division until his retirement due to failing health in 1994. Gene was active in the choirs at St. Paul the Apostle plus the (Diocesan) choir at St. Marys Cathedral, which provided him with many hours of joyful highs. He served on the executive of the St. James Horticultural Society in charge of garden plots on Silver Avenue for the past few years. He was deeply honoured to be presented with a lifetime membership last fall. He loved to garden and doing pickles, preserves and bragging about his tomatoes. His mall walker friends of Polo Park became an important part in his life after retirement. We would like to thank Dr. Frame and Dr. Homik and their staffs for being there for him since September 1990, plus his two favourite VON nurses Cori and Karla who did home visits checking on his well-being over the past few years. Sorry the cookie jar is empty! Sister Mary Ann and the Tuesday prayer group are so comforting to us. Cal and Allison at Rana your friendship was important to him. To the rescue and ambulance attendants, emergency staff and other staff of the Grace your compassion and dedication to Gene and family will help us in the days to come. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made in Genes memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m at St. Paul the Apostle, 2400 Portage Ave. with Msgr. Ward Jamieson officiating.
