EDITH KING It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Edith Rose King on August 4, 2001 at the Pinawa Hospital, Pinawa, MB at the age of 89 years. Rose was born November 4, 1911 in Lac du Bonnet, MB, daughter of Henry and Edith Smith. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frederick James King on May 28, 1981, her daughter Rosalie Joy Wardrop on September 17, 1990, and her son Frederick William King on March 25, 2001. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Daisy Dales (Alan), her sons, Arthur (Donna), Keith (Rose-Marie), Ken, and Earl (Violet), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rose lived most of her life in Lac du Bonnet and Seven Sisters Falls. She worked tirelessly as an active member of the community, especially the Rebekah Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Anglican Church Ladies Auxiliary, Hospital Guilds and many volunteer groups. Rose was a devoted mother, a loving and caring person filled with compassion, hospitality and a zest for living. She could never do enough for her family and friends or people in need. Her family and her church were the focal points in her life. She never missed acknowledging her family on special occasions. Her happiest times were spent with large family gathering such as Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. She enjoyed family games, playing cards, curling, berry picking, cooking, baking and making jams, jellies and pickles. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Doctors and Nursing staff of the Pinawa Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness shown to Rose and her family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lac du Bonnet Legion in Lac du Bonnet with Rev. Brian Rountree officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Roses memory to the Pinawa Hospital or to the St. John Anglican Church in Lac du Bonnet or to a charity of ones choice. RUSSELL FUNERAL HOMES LTD. AND CREMATORIUM of Beausejour, are in care of arrangements. 1-866-424-6271 (toll free) or 268-2263.
