LAURANCE BURKITT KENNY 1908 - 2001 It is with sadness that the family of Laurance B. Kenny announces his passing on August 2, 2001, at the Victoria Hospital. Larry was predeceased by Marion, his wife of 60 years, in September 1998; his brother Charles in 1977; his sister Beatrice in 1999; and his nephew Richard in 2000. Larry is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his son Brian (Nancy), grandchildren, Bob and Francie; daughter Sharon Trosky (Tom), grandchildren, Kristin Easton (Jeff), Niki, Kevin, great-grandchild Emma; daughter Elaine McCrimmon, grandchildren, Anne Haarsma (Rob) and Jenny, as well as dear friend Muriel Urschel. Dad went to Flin Flon in 1942 to work for HBM&S, retiring in 1973. Throughout his life, Dad had many jobs - working on a farm, fox ranch, Winnipeg Police Force, building the railroad to Churchill, surveyor, contractor, Central Pat Mines, and supervising a mine in the Yukon. As his granddaughter Niki once wrote, "My Grandfather is a man who is full of love and laughter. He has a history full of amazing experiences that have created a colourful and humourous man who always has a story to tell. I have never heard my Grandfather dwell on missed opportunities or fallen dreams. He always viewed life from a positive perspective. My Grandpa lives each day to its fullest and has an amazing lust for life. He manages to spread joy and laughter into the hearts that surround him." We will miss you Dad, Grampa, and Grampa Great. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A wake to follow in La Salle.
